Miss Universe Organization Addresses False Claims Regarding Ownership and Control
The Miss Universe Organization issues this statement in response to recent communications, social media posts, and widespread media reports including those circulated in Thailand by TCG Social Media Group Company Limited that incorrectly suggest the company has purchased, or is in the process of purchasing, the rights to the Miss Universe Organization.
These assertions are incorrect and do not reflect the facts or the official position of the Miss Universe Organization.
MUO is a privately held and fully independent company. Its ownership structure is clearly established and duly registered with the relevant corporate authorities in its jurisdiction. While we are aware of event invitations and communications circulated by TCG Social Media Group Company Limited suggesting an interest in the Miss Universe Organization, no individual, company, or group including TCG or its representatives has acquired any ownership interest, license, management rights, or control over the Miss Universe brand, the Miss Universe Organization, or any related intellectual property.
There is no agreement, contract, share purchase, transfer of rights, or ongoing negotiation with TCG Social Media Group Company Limited regarding the sale or acquisition of the Miss Universe Organization or any of its assets. Any materials or announcements implying such a relationship are inaccurate and do not originate from MUO.
Any announcement, press invitation or publicity material that claims or implies that a third party has purchased, controls or represents the Miss Universe Organization, when it has not been issued or expressly confirmed by the Miss Universe Organization, is false and misleading. Such communications create confusion among our partners, licensees, national directors, contestants, sponsors, media and the public, and may constitute a violation of intellectual property and other applicable laws.
The Miss Universe Organization will take all necessary measures, including civil and criminal legal action where appropriate, to protect its rights, brand, and global community against any unauthorized or deceptive use of its name, logo, trademarks, image, or reputation.
We strongly urge media outlets, partners, and the general public to rely solely on information released through MUO’s official and verified communication channels. Any statement, announcement, or commentary regarding the ownership, control, or rights of the Miss Universe Organization that does not originate from these official channels should be considered unreliable and inaccurate.
