Miss CA USA Supports King Tut Installation in LA
The Original Farmers Market in Los Angeles welcomed its biggest visitor in history – a 32-foot tall, 2-ton King Tut Guardian statue, a supersized replica of the original artifact on display at the California Science Center exhibition
KING TUT: Treasures of the Golden Pharaoh.
Miss California USA Kelley Johnson helped coronate the king and welcomed more than 150 Hancock Park Elementary students to watch the statue being built. The statue will serve as a backdrop to a King Tut-inspired opening night and fashion design contest
The 3-story statue will remain on view beside the iconic Farmers Market Clock Tower through Sept. 27 when Metropolitan Fashion Week designers will showcase one masterpiece gown or costume inspired by KING TUT: Treasures of the Golden Pharaoh at the opening night event.
Visitors who post photos with the statue to their social media platforms from August 30-September 27 can enter a sweepstake to win prizes including exhibition tickets, signed catalogs from world-famous Egyptologist Dr. Zahi Hawass, Original Farmers Market gift certificates and passes to the Metropolitan Fashion Week Closing Gala and Fashion Awards at City Hall. Photos must be posted to Instagram or Twitter using #KingTutTour, #Sweepstakes and also tag @farmersmarketla & @kingtuttour. Terms accessible at: https://www.kingtutexhibition.com/en/terms.php/
