Miss USA Speaks at ANS Winter Meeting
Kára McCullough traveled to Washington D.C. to speak on the panel for the American Nuclear Society’s (ANS) Winter Meeting. Senior government and industry executives discussed the topic of “Generations in Collaboration: Building for Tomorrow” including the challenges and potential solutions to develop the next generation of nuclear professionals. Kára shared her experiences as a young nuclear scientist and her view on the challenges in attracting young talents to STEM industries.
She additionally emphasized the importance of mentorships with young generations of nuclear scientists and engineers.The supply of a highly trained nuclear workforce becomes crucial to the success of the research, development, design, construction, and operation of new nuclear facilities and systems.
