Haley Pontius is an avid cook and baker, food and fitness enthusiast, and spontaneous traveler. Following her father’s heart disease diagnosis, she began volunteering with the American Heart Association and has since played various roles from a grassroots activist to a national spokesperson.
Ten years later, Haley is an honors graduate from the University of Central Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics. She hopes to use the title of Miss USA to continue educating, advocating, and inspiring healthy lifestyles in our communities.

I’m 24 years old, but I’ve been rocking gray hair since I was 13. Inheriting premature graying from my father may not sound very glamorous, but I love to let my white hair grow out every once in a while.
What do a sloth and a turtle have in common? You guessed it… they’re slow and they’re also my nicknames. Growing up I was known as being thorough and meticulous in everything I did, thus I earned my childhood nickname of sloth and my teenage nickname of turtle.
