Viktoriia Apanasenko received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and she has been researching the topic of domestic violence for six years. During her school years, she overcame bullying which inspired her to start working closely with mental health causes. She is a Peace Ambassador of the UN Global Compact Ukraine and supports their Mental Help project that provides free, professional psychological help for the victims of the war in Ukraine.

Since the start of the full-scale war in Ukraine, Apanasenko has been working as a volunteer helping to prepare food for the battalions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and victims of war. Along with her friend, she provided food, medicine, and hygiene products to more than 300 Ukrainian families, and she continues helping internally displaced people.

She plans to bring more awareness to the importance of gender equality in the military through the The Female Quotient, an organization that is advancing gender equality in the workplace.
