MEET TOSHAMI
Toshami Calvin is an easy-going, fun-loving 26 year old Arian from the salubrious district of Bath, St Thomas, Jamaica. As a young child, she enjoyed a free-spirited life climbing trees, swimming in nearby rivers, and exploring the outdoors.
Calvin migrated to the USA while pursuing her secondary education, ultimately earning her undergraduate degree in Health Sciences at the University of Central Florida. After losing her father at age 14, she made a commitment in honor of his memory to complete her studies, earn a degree, and make him proud.
Calvin is currently a registered behavioral technician and therapy provider for children on the autism spectrum. She became devoted to helping children when her cousin was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and was determined to assist her. She is a strong advocate for greater autism awareness in Jamaica and works with the nonprofit Jamaica Autism Support Association.
Calvin speaks consistently about her gratitude in holding the Miss Universe Jamaica title and uses her platform to expand awareness in the behavior therapy field so children and their parents and care-givers have access to free or affordable resources and services.
