Maxine Formosa Gruppetta is a 22 year old who hails from the village of St Julians. She is half Maltese from her mother’s side and half British from her father’s side. She currently works at a company that provides packaging for eco friendly and vegan skincare, make-up, and fragrance products.

From a very young age she developed an interest in the performing arts including acting, drama, ballet, and jazz dancing. At age 13 she moved to the UK to study singing and song writing. Formosa Gruppetta is very active and loves to go to the gym every day as well as plays tennis, padel, golf, and volleyball.

After her close friend was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, she became dedicated to increasing awareness both locally and internationally about the disease and works closely with an NGO to accomplish this.

She loves to volunteer at a horse sanctuary for children with autism where she mucks stables, feeds horses, and takes care of their aesthetics.
Maxine is determined to make her two biggest supporters proud; her grandmother, whom she lost due to cancer, and her father, whom she lost just three months after her Miss Universe Malta participation.
