Maria Fernanda Rodriguez Ávila is a civil engineer with a passion for languages. She recently graduated in Portuguese, her third language and is continuing her studies with Costa Rican sign language as the inclusion of nonverbal languages is important to her. She is a sports enthusiast and practices mixed martial arts, ballet, and swimming.

She dedicates her time to making an impact for young people, most notably working with the Mariano Juvenil Association as a member of the board of directors. She is also an active member of the Lions Club International of Costa Rica and The Clean Wave.

Due to an eagerness to change the world, she founded her own nonprofit, Unbreakable Dreams, with a mission to support the dreams of young people who are the future of the world. She is extremely passionate about advocating for women to inspire each other to fight for their dreams and pursue the careers they want to have without fear of prejudice.
