Kiara Arends has a Bachelor's of Laws degree with minors in Business and Tax Laws and has worked as an intern at a renowned corporate law firm in Aruba. Arends moved to Belgium at the age of 22 to pursue her Master's of Laws degree, specializing in International Business Trade and Tax law.

Arends was raised in a predominantly female family, and therefore is an active supporter of social justice, especially amongst mothers and young women. During the pandemic in 2020, she founded her organization “BUMP,” which helps equip young mothers with sustainable resources.

As a teenager, Arends formed part of the Unicef Kids Council under the guidance of Princess Laurentien of the Dutch Royal Family. Her passion for sustainable solutions relate back to her love for the oceans she swam in as a young child. It was there that she completed training as a competitive swimmer, landing in the top 3 of swimmers on several occasions nationally and internationally.

Her fluency in four languages has enabled her to travel to over 20 countries. She loves to meet new people and discover new versions of herself in different cultures. Arends firmly believes in the butterfly effect; “one small action can create a chain reaction.”
