the beauties are here in the Bahamas. All 84 made it and did really well getting through registrations and fittings. As most of you may know, the Fadil shots are up and look amazing! Who's your favorite? Got some really strong contestants from various parts of this world. Of course we have those who are more personable and those who are reserved. We also have those who are all over the place!!! Think you can guess?!I LOVE the diversity!

My only favorite is Venezuela. Stefania Fernandez is distinct on her own. I've never seen this face among the previous Miss Venezuelas before. Her long gown was desinged as if it was fitted for wearing the diamond nexus crown of Miss Universe 2009. Osmel's team really did research well of what to wear during the pageant. She also surprised me on her swimsuit photos...so gorgeous...she could be a supermodel too. Her body figure is like that of a woman in a Miss Universe trophy.

hi everyone I am from Trinidad and I am very disspointed that this year we don't have a candidate to represent us. saying that and after looking all the pictures and videos, I definetely will go with a black lady (of course) but not because she is black but because she looks gorgeous in every single picture I have seen about her I am talking about Miss Dominican Republic. I think she has everything, pretty face, beautiful body language and personality, I like her accent in the interview and how humble and sweet she looks. I must admit everyone has their own point of view being that we are a democratic nation but for topgun9144, you are a very ignorant person. I don't know Miss Bahamas personally but she won the crown fair and square!!! This country as a whole has put that young lady through so much so for once have some national pride!! I feel that all the Miss Universe contestants are beautiful and I wish all them well but for you to make a statement about someone who is representing you as a Bahamian is shameful!!! Back At You Miss Bahamian Beauty! DEMOCRATIC Society huh!
Miss Bahamas did not win that pageant fair and square and you know yourself that the judges themselves were shock when the last 5 names were called. 3 of them even admitted that she was not the judges decission.
So if you want to call someone ignorant you better start by looking in the mirror. Our country is so corrupt and 3rd world in their thinking that they can't even choose a Beauty Queen who can make our people and country proud.
Rumor has it that the Miss Universe committee is trying to create a semifinalist of 20 just to be gracious to the Bahamas for hosting the event.
This is something that you should be embarrassed about.

Salio a la luz que en los años 1983 y 1989 las representantes chilenas al miss universo, vistieron como traje tipico el de la diablada. Ahi si no dijeron nada los bolivianos, se quedaron calladitos. I agree. I came from Venezuela yet i see that Asian beauties deserves to win this year's title. i just scan the beauties and i do believe Miss Philippines and Miss Thailand would be a neck to neck battle for the Top 15 in Asia! But of course Miss Venezuela deserves to be in Top 15.

She shouldn't be representing our country in the first place.
This year the Bahamas had their first opportunity to do something in Miss Universe and they had 2 contestants who were capable of fulfilling this opportunity and the Miss Bahamas Universe Committee screwed that up by unfairly selecting Kiara to represent.
So they deserve what ever disappointment Kiara brings.
Even the 3 Miss Universe committee members who attended Miss Bahamas expressed their disappointment of the results that night.

After watching the preliminary online last nite...my top 3 are Panama, USA and Japan!!! Followed closely by Ireland, Australia, Costa Rica, Guam, Switzerland, Indonesia...there are some others also I liked but these are the ones who were "SPECIAL" in my opinion!! No one knows who's is going to win! But we'll all get a good idea once we see the contestants introduce themselves and get an idea of who they are. Pictures are one thing and see them live and in person is something different. You can tell a lot about a woman by the manner in which she carries herself! It's difficult to say right now but my top 5 are: Japan, Spain, Mexico, USA, and so far Puerto Rico is tied with Colombia. I also like Zambia....whoops I selected 7 ...oh well!

I just saw the Miss Universe Presentation show and let me just say "Miss Bahamas did a great job!" Just a few front runners for her to fare with are Miss USA, Miss France, Miss South Africa, and Miss China. The audiences top two contenders were Miss Bahamas and Miss USA. It's anyone's crown, but Miss Bahamas did a great job! I would not be shocked if either of the two won!!

I just observe this... a lot of contestant from the power house countries has a lot of imperfections which means they do surgery on their body part, and same goes with other contestants who did breast reduction which is really obvious.. if I we're be a judge I won't buy them.
Miss UNIVERSE is all about natural beauty... so I do hope that there would be a chance for those contestant to be on top... queens without insecurity on themselves (surgery).
Our Candidates is 100% beauty, no surgery at all... and always... but never appreciate most of the year. Our candidates walk really queenly, pose like a goddess on earth. And I am talking about MISS PHILIPPINES... we normally won the Ms Photogenic every years but this time... we really hope that the NATURAL BEAUTY will be the fundamental measurement of choosing a queen. Besides, the pageant promotes NATURAL BEAUTY in all aspects.
To all the judges, open up your mind and it's about time to change.... TRUE queen comes from NATURE... and it is perfect to be at Bahamas.

Hello everyone, if weare looking for a miss universe in terms of beauty, latin american countries are leading, in terms of charm, asian delegates are winners. But Miss Universe is not all about beauty, we also have to consider intelligence, character and personality. Ms. Philippines, Ms. Venezuela, Ms. Puerto Rico, Ms. Thailand, Ms. Mexico, Ms. Indonesia and Ms. USA are the fronliners in the recently concluded preliminaries based on the reaction of the audience and considering their performance as well. ......
