Botox Parties? Insight from Miss Universe's Official Skin Care Expert
posted by at 11:47am on 06/18/2009
For this week's skin care tip, a blogger asks, Is a Botox party appropriate for a girl and her friends for a sweet sixteen celebration? To this question, I say absolutely not. Botox is a toxin injected underneath the skin in order to minimize or lend a smoother appearance to lines and wrinkles that have developed over the years. The average sixteen year old girl has not yet developed all of the muscles in her face to warrant a Botox procedure of any kind; however, girls at this age can most certainly take measures to keep their skin fresh and healthy. Here are some fun tips for a glowing face:
1) For young girls who feel that they are frowning too much, take a piece of scotch tape and put it between your eyebrows. Every time you frown, you will feel the tape crinkle, letting you know to immediately stop!
2) Take a mixture of equal parts oatmeal, papaya, water or lemon juice, and spread it over the face as a facial mask. Leave it on for two minutes, then rinse. Oatmeal can also be used as an all natural facial scrub. Fresh ingredients are good for young skin, as they do not include any harsh additives.
3) Ward off after-party, puffy eyes! Wet two chamomile tea bags and keep them in the refrigerator overnight. Place the bags over your eyes in the morning for an automatic refreshing start to the day.
