Acting School and a Very Happy Mother's Day
posted by Kristen Dalton at 02:29pm on 05/08/2009
Hola! The last few days have been such a blast! Wednesday, I traveled to Las Vegas for an event with the Las Vegas Convention of Visitors Bureau. I arrived back to NYC Thursday evening, and then attended the Education through Music Gala at the Waldorf-Astoria hotel where famous violinist, Joshua Bell, was named an honoree and he treated us with an awe-inspiring performance. The gala was a benefit to raise money to fund music programs in public school curriculums in NYC in order to provide a well-rounded, creative education for children. I helped raise $3,250 by auctioning off a dinner at a wonderful steakhouse where I will join someone for a delicious meal!
Today, I had my first private acting class at the New York Film Academy where I read a script with another actress. My teacher filmed our scene a few times and then we critiqued my acting skills! It was a very dynamic class, and I have already learned so much in just one class! My next one is on Monday, and I will be reading a script that my teacher gave me to read over this weekend :-)
To all the hard-working and dedicated mothers, Happy Mother's Day this weekend!!!!

What a fun week I have had! This week included a variety of events and activities, but my absolute favorite was going back to salsa work at my beloved Baila Society. It felt so amazing to get back on the dance floor and to slip in my salsa dance shoes and to feel the music with my dance partner agai... more

OK Kristen -- Here is the deal---- you have tooted yourself as a Christain for years. How then can you say that the definition of marriage should be left up to politicians????? Read your Bible!!! You will find the definition of marriage there and it does not concern politicians and how they vote. Very disappointed and I find it quite hypocritical.

Freedom of speech is no longer free, it comes with a price. Pageantry has, until today, been about sustenance with character over outward appearances. Today, Donald Trump will show that the character of his system has a price. He is a business man; it’s about money, outward appearances. Today’s USA says “If I do not like what you say…your onstage answer……then that’s not freedom of speech its HATE speech”. The USA system by today’s actions will show, it will allow outward media and factious minority sources of opinion, to slither into every aspect of who you are and wrap around any and all personal decisions and mistakes you may have made and strangle the life out of you. It will squeeze and watch you die. It will do so in front of everyone. Daring any others to act in defense of its victim, a silent act of fact, that if you don’t believe as it does by appeasing to almighty wallet, then you will not be spared.
Donald, in a phone interview said his system has relevancy because it has monetary value. Those of TV endorsements, individual state competitors contributing their entry dollars, state directors garnering outside sponsorship dollars and so forth. A real money making juggernaut. This, to him shows relevancy, this to him proves worth.
Well, I am officially withdrawing all support from the USA system. I will burn the dress and crush the crown. I would rather it be made of thorns than of jewels. Some crowns are worth the pain, worth the walk, worth the sacrifice and death. Some are not and never will be. Such is the NEW path of Miss USA system and all who knowingly wear and sponsor its crown.
I challenge those who wear her crown to admonish it. They say actions speak louder than words. Will your actions be to return what carries such a heavy price. Is it worth the cost. Are you willing to pay that price. Are you prepared to have the reflections of those jewels be the reflection of your character? Your actions will speak.

OK, how about if, when commenting Kristen's blog, we keep KRISTEN the subject of conversation? I am sure she does not appreciate random MUO fans bashing Miss Prejean. Kristen is an amazing young woman with the astounding responsibility of being Miss USA. Let's support her without bashing another young woman.

For everybody here that feels the need to waste their time and bash this wonderful young lady in favor of Miss California, go find something more productive to do with your time. Kristen Dalton won, and she deserved it..AND IT'S NOT GOING TO CHANGE NO MATTER HOW MUCH EVERYBODY BITCHES AND MOANS. So on that note, please leave this wonderful woman alone and realize that you can't do anything about it so stop being so negative and find something better to do with your time.
