Boston & The Global Network

This week has been absolutely wonderful! Stormi and I had a great weekend just spending time together and watching movies. We got manicures and pedicures and full body massages on Saturday wahoo! Monday started off with a trip to Boston to help celebrate the 20 year anniversary of the partnership between New Balance and Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Boston was fabulous, so quaint, clean, and beautiful! I could definitely see myself living there one day. I was able to help promote the event by visiting some media stations and I even got to work on my TV hosting skills at the same time :-) New Balance was amazing, they gave me a pair of pink suede running shoes with "Miss USA Lace Up" monogrammed on the tongue. Fifteen percent of the proceeds from their pink Lace Up collection goes towards Susan G. Komen in the month of October! Be sure to shop for a cause next month!
Wednesday, I had the chance meet and thank the employees at BMO Equity Markets on behalf of YAI for their help in raising funds for YAI! They dedicated the entire work day towards raising all of the money for charity. That is one great way to help someone sleep at night, knowing they did a good deed that day. That night, I attended an event at which the Miss Universe Organization formed a partnership with The Global Network, which is a non-profit organization that works towards eradicating Neglected Tropical Diseases. A lot of their work is done in Africa, and I have always wanted to do mission work in Africa so I would be ecstatic to be able to go help the cause. Stormi, Crystle Stewart, Amelia Vega, and other Miss Universes were also there so it was a ton of fun! Thursday, I attended a benefit concert for Children's Miracle Network with Stormi and Esther at the Hard Rock cafe. Her favorite singer, Justin Beiber performed and he was very impressive, with wonderful talent especially for a 15 year old! It was definitely a great time!
Friday, I am traveling to Raleigh, NC to speak on the importance of knowing your body and trusting yourself when it comes to any disease, and in this case, Ovarian Cancer, as it is known as the silent killer.
I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!! Be sure to follow me on twitter, at www.twitter.com/missusa09!
