Josie Hetti is a student at St. Mary’s Catholic High School. She started playing basketball in the 4th grade and it has become a very important part of her life. She has also played varsity volleyball and ran track. Her best race was the 800 and as a 7th and 8th grader, she went to State with her 3200 relay team. She has also been her class vice president and involved in FBLA and Student Athletes for Christ. Outside of school, she has volunteered for programs such as Relay for Life, SADD and Wounded Warriors. Two years ago, she went to New York City on a mission trip with her church youth group. They served food at a local homeless shelter, sorted clothes at a second hand store and delivered meals to homebound individuals. This was very emotional and a great learning experience for Josie. She’s very shy person and she competed in the pageant to push herself out of her comfort zone. She’s glad she did as she has had opportunities to travel, walk in fashion shows and meet so many people.
