Hello everyone!
I am completely living in a dream world in my first week as Miss USA 2009! The morning after the exhilarating night when I became Miss USA, I flew to my new home in New York City where I share a luxurious Manhattan apartment with the fabulous Miss Universe, Dayana, and Miss Teen USA, Stevi! What better way to move to NYC? The next few days were filled with early morning wake up calls, talented make up artists and hairdressers, media interviews, hair appointments, tanning, a new gym membership, and manicures and pedicures! Not to mention, I am so blessed to have the most incredibly fun and supportive MUO staff as my new family. I really feel like I have moved home. I had my first meeting with Mr. Trump who was an absolute gentleman and he even signed his new book for me! Saturday morning, I am traveling to Pennsylvania where I will appear on QVC with MUO's cosmetic sponsor Darac Beauty and I can't wait! They are absolutely fabulous and have wonderful products especially for contouring purposes; all of my friends at Miss USA loved them! Make sure you tune in to QVC Saturday afternoon!
To all of my amazing friends at Miss USA, I love you girls so much and I honestly wish you were here with me because I miss you like crazy!! The class of 2009 at Miss USA is the most genuine, sweet, and fun young women and I am so humbled and honored to represent all of your and your hard work that you do throughout your states as leaders and titleholders.
To my wonderful family and friends, THANK YOU for being the most supportive, grounding, and loving family and friends in the world. I am so thankful for your endless encouragement and faith in me. I would not be the strong woman I am now without you.
To everyone who supports and is involved with the Miss Universe organization, thank you for being a part of such a beautiful and impactful program, it makes all the difference in the world.
Though I have several goals during my reign as Miss USA, my ultimate goal is to make America proud by inspiring women empowerment and to represent young women everywhere with grace, humility, and leadership.
Don't forget to vote for the new Miss Universe crown at www.missusa.com!

First... Congratulations Kristen! I hope you have an amazing year.
I would just like to comment on how you mentioned "tanning" in your list of things you've been doing. May I suggest that you rethink tanning? I think that you serve as a role model for many girls and young women who feel as if they have to do so much in order to be beautiful- including tanning. Tanning can cause cancer. That is well-known, and skin cancer is the most common form of cancer there is. It would be really nice if there was a role model for girls who doesn't tan her skin and shows off her natural skin color. Just a suggestion since I know your platform is relating to cancer (breast and ovarian but skin cancer is also important).
Congrats again!

I would like to agree with the comment about Tanning, what a rotten priority as a role model for young girls . . . however I guess Miss Usa is not a realistic role model for young girls. Anyone who has to undergo plastic surgery (nose job and breast enhancements) in order to fulfill her lifelong dream is pretty shallow and shouldn't be allowed to reperesent the USA. What kind of message does that send to young girls? True beauty is being content with what God has given you and I believe Miss NC would stop at nothing to create a perfect image so she can be in the spotlight. . . .that was how she was raised.

Would you people give up on the whole "you dont deserve to be Miss USA, Miss Cali does, you wont win Miss Universe, Im not gonna support Miss USA Org" crap. Kristen, there is nothing wrong with being confident. I saw the interview you had with Wilmington Byline. You said then that there was no plan B, that you were going to win Miss USA, and you did, kudos to you. To all of you who say you wont support Miss USA or the organization, that just shows you what kind of ignorant people we have in America. Not supporting one of your own when she is competing with the rest of the world. There are thousands who support MUO, one less supporter is perfectly fine. Others will replace you. Kristen has achieved so much at such a young age. What have you done lately?

So what if she tans? Shes from the beach.. I agree constant tanning is not good for the skin, but we all have bad habits. She likes to tan, and you like to smoke, or drink, or drive recklessly, eat junk food etc. Lets all keep in mind she is human as well. And please tell me how you know she has breast implants and a nose job? What because you read it on a website, blog, heard it on TV etc? Congrats to you, your the reason journalists get paid so well.

All you have to do is look at a picture of her from two years ago and the medical procedures are obvious. And I am not running as Miss USA and have no desire to exploit myslef or women for that matter in a ridiculous way. So I am not all over the media as a role model for young girls - but she is and we all know how impressionable young girls are. It is just sad that someone has to go to those extremes to accomplish a life long dream. Why not save the world or something positive and usefull like that.

with all due respect to the new Miss USA, i think shes beautiful but i prefer Carrie Prejean...

Kristen competed very, very well, but I'll be honest...Carrie Prejean owned that stage.
If it were me, I couldn't have accepted a crown, knowing that I won it only because one of the judges scored her a zero when trying to further the homosexual agenda.
To me, it would be a very, very shallow victory.

Congratulations! I am so proud of you! You won the crown before the final question sweetheart! Hold your head up high and never pay any mind to the comments and controversy of Miss California. I wish you joy, peace, success and strength as Miss USA. As a pageant mom of a state teen usa title holder I am aware a title/crown is no fluff job. When you win the title/crown it's because you had the devotion and energy to win it and that proves your strong enough to take on the appearances, charity events and other duties that lie ahead in the coming year. After each job is done you can then feel the reward of having done the good deed. That is when you are truely a winner in your heart! After meeting you Kristen only once for a short time at the Miss SC USA pageant coronation, then watching you on stage in Vegas and previously hearing my daughter speak about her memories of photoshoots and the Stand Out Retreat she shared with you, I know that you will make MUO proud!

wow really? your going to post bashes on the girl's blog? CA didn't win, get over it. if you were following the scores all night, you would see that CA was in 2nd, an NC was in a far first. quit your bashing (or save it for a message board), and congratulate the fabulous new Miss USA.
Congrats Kristen!! Good luck at MU!

And yes it is one word the way I say it...LETITGO...Kristen...youre gorgeous...you deserved the crown...you won it fair and square...it was CLEAR AS A BELL that the judges wanted you from the start of the swimsuit competition and they never wavered...you knocked your question out of the park and that sealed the deal...I hate what these Miss Cali supporters are doing...I support what she said...I also DONT support Perez Hilton...but nothing she did or he did cost her the crown...its yours...you won it ....there is no doubt about that...Im from Georgia so I have no state biases....youre a beautiful woman and you will represent us well in the Miss Universe pageant...so ROCK IT GIRL!!!

Hey, have everyone here watch the final, Kristen got the highest score both swimsuit and evening gown, and this is the rule of contest, and her families are pageant families. Kristen Dalton’s mother, Jeannie Boger, was Miss North Carolina USA 1982 and her sister, Julia Dalton, is currently Miss North Carolina Teen USA 2008, and Miss Teen USA 2008 2nd Runner-Up.

It's about time a blonde wears the Miss Universe crown again. ;) I'm getting very tired of blondes being automatically labeled as "not fit for international competition." Let's not catfight, ladies; you're all pretty.
Best of luck to KRISTEN DALTON, MISS USA 2009 at the Miss Universe pageant! I am fully confident that you will bring the Universe crown back to the USA at last. :)
