Crystle's Farewell Blog
posted by Crystle Stewart at 12:20pm on 04/19/2009
I have been dreading this moment....my final blog. I am sitting in my dressing room doing my makeup and reminiscing when I first started competing in pageants. Five years later I am passing the Miss USA crown on to another young woman.
Patience, persistence, and perseverance, are the three words I remembered and stuck to throughout my journey. This year has been amazing for me. Not only have been able to travel the world and meet amazing people but I have developed a second family. The staff at the Miss Universe organization is what I will miss the most. The laughs, smiles and tears we have shared will always be in my heart.
This time is bitter sweet for me. I am happy to see someone else's dream come true, but I am sad to be the "step child" of the Miss Universe organization. Thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout my pageant career. Know that this is not the end but only the beginning for me..... All my love, Crystle Stewart Miss USA 2008

You are absolutely one of the most beautiful and engaging Miss USA's ever. If only that little trip and fall hadn't happened you would have been Miss Universe, no contest!
Whatever you do in life, you will be a huge success. Best of luck!

Crystle, do not be too sad. You reigned as a good Miss USA. Although many still mock your fall at Miss Universe, that fall would not be your disgrace in life. You served as a great winner, attending functions and trying your best. You are one of my favorite winners and you represented USA well.
Do not give up, a end is just a beginning of something new. Good luck in your future career.

Hi Crystle, for me, you are the most memorable Miss USA not only for a job you did very well, but for the inspiration you have shared us. Competing in your state pageant for a number of times to reach Miss USA is such a feat! And your victory made me realize that we are given multiple chances to reach our goals, if we really want to and if strive better to achieve them.
Thank you Crystle for the very memorable reign. We are very happy as you reap more victories in the future.
Shine on Miss USA!

Crystal, I admit I wanted Oklahoma to win Miss USA, but you were my second choice...and you proved me WRONG...you were the quintessential MISS USA...you represented our country amazingly well...youre a gorgeous woman who is a FANTASTIC role model for young girls everywhere. I hope that my daughter, who is 13 and competes in pageants, can become as poised and articulate as you (She is getting there). Only God dictates how beautiful she will become on the outside, but clearly, I hope to keep her the sweet, charming and innocent girl she is today and if she becomes half the woman that you are, I will consider my job as a parent a success!! Thank you for being such an outstanding role model and best wishes to you in the future!!!!

I don't understand why Crystle made her final walk as Miss USA without her crown. Last year in the Miss Universe Pageant the same was for Riyo Mori, the outgoing Miss Universe. There is no "excuse" for this lack of regalness and glamour. A beautiful woman that made everyone proud of her during her reigned now looked like she was "demoted", or even worth as if she hadn't done a good job and deserved to be shown to the world as such without her CROWN!!! Who ever thought that it was a good idea because they were going to introduce new crowns, as in the past Miss Universe and now in Miss USA, LACKS brain and SENSITIVITY!!! In the past when they had a crown changed the reingning queen came out with the crown she WON and crown the new queen with the new gem. WHY COULDN'T YOU LET HER WALK WITH HER CROWN OR, if they didn't want to take the spotlight from the new one, WITH THE NEW CROWN???? Please reconsider for the Miss Universe Pageant.
If others feel the same let the MUO know your views!!!
Crystel no matter we all know you are the BEST Miss USA of all times!!! All the best to you.

HEY CRYSTLE,
First of all thanks again for sending me a autographed photo. Never did I think when I emailed you that you would actually reply and send me a autographed photo. You are what MISS USA is all about. More than just a pretty face but substance, beauty, intellect, and a heart for others. You will always be my favorite Miss USA. Miss NC has huge shoes to fill.

HI Crystle - while watching last night - I saw you on the Flight Zip Line at the Henderson mountain area - WE DID THE SAME FLIGHT IN JANUARY FOR MY GIRLS 28TH birthday celebration - I got her a massage right after too back at the hotel.........what a trip that flying was.......I know you know!
I took some cool video of her slamming into the stop bricks on the line while she was "starfishing" - i know youknow what that means..........she hit the blocks so hard that her glasses fell off her head and to watch it in slow motion kept us laughing for hours..........and that was only on the test run!
It was a fun afternoon and I would love to share our video with you........and I have been trying to find the images online of your "flights" (did you do all 4 runs plus the test line?)
Her name is Yasmeen and she is a sweetheart and if it wasnt for life circumstances, she could of been a contestant for a pageant cuz she is beautiful too!
Anyways, I hope you read this and can respond and I really hope you can send me a link of your "flight line adventure" too.
All the best in your continuing career............!!

Get rid of judges who judge upon their own personal, political agendas. When you are given a question, you should be judged upon your ability to speak clearly & with passion - there was NO right or wrong ANSWER - only an opinion! What Perez Hilton did to Carrie PreJean was discrimination against religious values & moral beliefs. He judged her answer as being "wrong" because she had a different set of beliefs & values than he did. She stood up for what was right & by "losing the crown" because of her brave, honest answer is such a moral travesty & a disgrace of the coveted, yet useless "Crown". To see Mr. Hilton NOT punished for his words / behavior is unfair, disgraceful & downright wrong. If a straight judge (& white to make it 'worse') were to EVER say, "Because you support Gay & Lesbian Unions - it cost you the crown!" - it would have NEVER been tolerated, NEVER been allowed & the public backlash would have been horrific. Equality & unity is what that Gay & Lesbian community supposedly seeks - yet, they are with-holding it from everyone else who doesn't agree with their opinions. I have many members in my family who are lesbian & bisexual, I love the people that they are & that they love me regardless of which way I vote & believe is truly American. THEY stand for what they espouse, and the let ME stand for what I believe, as well. Perez Hilton & those who support Perez Hilton are just as biggotted, discriminatory, irrational & racist as those who extinguished many good & valuable lives because they were merely Jews. Tolerance is a life skill. Tolerance is symbol of peace. Tolerance is a trait of a TRUE Miss USA or any person of real value. I am proud of my 4 daughters who cheer Carrie PreJean on for her true integrity & moral fiber. She is a REAL example & role model for people of ALL genders, races, religions, creeds & sexual orientation.

Miss California won, her title was stripped by an activist judge who was trying to steal the spotlight from the contestants. Sorry that your victory was marred.
